Primeramente Alana (alaniux) es orgullosamente mexicana.

Alaniux is an interdisciplinary artist from the Ciudad Juarez/ El Paso border. She writes and creates at the intersection of identity and reality where the occult, the vulnerable, and the infinite reside.

Through painting and poetry, her work draws from her culture’s mythology. Her life on the border and her origins in graffiti influence her gestrual style and explosive use of color.

Alaniux’s work has been featured at the Smithsonian of the American Latino in Washington DC. Alaniux holds three degrees in Fine Art, International Relations, and Economics.
